Privacy Policy

Vantage ("the App") is an iOS app that estimates your biological age from Apple Watch and Apple Health data. Your privacy matters, and the App has been designed so that your health data never leaves your device.

Data We Access

With your permission, the App reads the following categories of data from the Apple Health app on your iPhone. Access is read-only; the App never writes to Health.

• Sleep – Sleep duration, sleep stages (deep and REM), and bed/wake times used to compute sleep regularity.
• Activity – Steps, active energy, exercise minutes, walking and running distance, flights climbed, stand hours, recorded workouts, and time in daylight.
• Heart and respiration – Resting heart rate, heart rate variability, heart rate recovery, walking heart rate, average heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, and VO₂ Max.
• Body – Height, weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, blood pressure, blood glucose, walking speed, walking steadiness, and wrist temperature, where these exist in Health.
• Characteristics – Date of birth and biological sex, used to select age- and sex-adjusted reference ranges. If Health has no date of birth, the App asks you to enter your age.

You choose exactly which of these types the App may read in the Health permission dialog, and you can change that choice at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Vantage.

Data We Store

The App keeps a small history of its own results on your device so it can show trends and a longitudinal pace of aging:

• Result snapshots – Your biological age, Vantage Score, per-metric scores, and data confidence for each day the App was opened.
• Personal baselines – Rolling medians of your own heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and respiratory rate, used for readiness and anomaly detection.
• Manually entered age – Only if Health has no date of birth and you enter one.

All of this is stored exclusively in the App's private container on your device. Raw Health samples are read when needed and are not copied into the App's own storage.

How Your Data Is Processed

Every calculation, including biological age, fitness age, readiness, and anomaly detection, runs on your iPhone. The App has no server of its own, contains no networking code, and never transmits your Health data or anything derived from it to us or to anyone else.

Third-Party Services

The App does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking frameworks. It does not use your Health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and it never sells or shares it.

Notifications

The App can deliver quiet, local notifications when one of your metrics stays unusually far from your own baseline for two consecutive days. These notifications are generated on your device. They are not a diagnosis and are never sent through any external service. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Vantage.

Health Permissions

The App requests read-only access to the Health data types listed above. It works with whatever subset you grant; metrics you do not share simply lower the App's stated data confidence. Denying or revoking access does not affect anything already stored in Health.

Not a Medical Device

Biological age, readiness, and anomaly alerts are wellness estimates derived from consumer wearable data. They are for informational purposes only and are not a clinical measurement, diagnosis, or medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional about any health concern.

Data Retention and Deletion

The App's result history remains on your device until you uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes all data the App has stored. Your underlying Health data is managed by the Health app and is unaffected by installing or removing Vantage.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 16 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights Under GDPR

Since all data is processed and stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, you have full control over your data at all times. You can view it within the App, restrict what the App may read in the Health app, and delete it by uninstalling the App. We hold no personal data about you and therefore cannot access, export, or delete it on your behalf.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
